Question by : Why does my leica d lux 4 lcd screen flash black on parts of the photo that are overexposed?
I just got a new leica d lux 4 and when i take a photo that is white washed out (in certain portions of the photo) it will blink black (only that portion of the photo). My brother has the same camera, albeit older, and his does not have that feature. We both have the latest firmware V2.2. I’m wondering why mine would be any different, and if perhaps it is faulty. Thanks for your help!

Gary Fong Puffer Pop Up Flash Diffuser - CANON/NIKON

  • Provides professional-style diffused lighting from your camera's pop-up flash
  • Softens camera's harsh direct flash Reduces harsh shadows
  • Ingeniously mounts via the camera's flash shoe Adjustable for center positioning of any pop-up flash regardless of size
  • Works in any camera mode (ex: Program, Aperture priority, etc.)
THE PUFFER mounts in the hot-shoe slot of digital cameras with a pop-up flash, greatly softening and enhancing the quality of light. It's great for portraits, grab-shots of people and closeups of objects (great for e-bay photos!) It packs up nice and small for convenient storage in your camera bag (or pocket!) and has eight different mounting positions for the perfect fit for any popup flash camera. If you use your popup flash with a wide angle lens and shade, you've probably seen a really weird half-circle dark shadow at the bottom of your image. That's the shadow from your lens shade. When you put on the Puffer diffuser, the shadow is nearly eliminated. I guess the best way would be to practice it. Have someone flash a light at you every now and then. That’s really the only way to “train” yourself.

Question by Paul Jasson P: I just bought a Sony A330 DSLR. What do I need next, a second lens or an external flash? What models are best?
I only have the default 18-55m lens and the built in pop-up flash. Just wondering what’s the next best investment.

Best answer:

Answer by ikyikyhaha
That depends largely on what kind of photos you prefer to take and whether or not your current equipment suits your needs. If you are interested in outdoor photography, or want or need a lens with, say, a higher zoom range or the ability to get closer to something, I would go with a new lens right off the bat.

However, if you find yourself taking a lot of pictures indoors and at night, or simply take a lot of pictures of people. You might be better off sticking with your kit lens and investing in a better flash with more range and versatility.

Personally, I don’t like the look of flash photos and tend to avoid using it whenever possible, so I invested in new lenses and lens accessories right off the bat. Unfortunately, I do not know sony SLRs very well, so I cannot suggest specific accessories. However, should you choose to purchase a lens, a good telephoto, probably in the 70-300 mm range would serve you well. If you go for a flash, I would suggest something with the ability to tilt and point in different directions, as direct lighting can wash out your picture.

I hope I’ve been helpful, and haven’t just added another level of confusion to this.

Question by shy_butch: I won a CHINON SLR CAMERA 35mm that came with a bunch of lens and two external flashes?
i was wondering if there was any digital camera that these lens can go on seeing as im not too familiar nor do i have the items to produce the photos if i take them on this film camera if you want to know anything more about it you can email me @ mefernander@hotmail.com thank u so much if anyone can reply quickly it would be appreciated

Best answer:

Answer by fhotoace
For clarity, your bid was the highest on this camera system? Is that right?

When you say a “bunch” of lenses, what does that mean exactly? Three lenses, two prime and one zoom? When you say Chinon SLR camera, which model?

We need a lot more information before we can answer specifically which dSLR system might be able to use your “bunch” of lenses or not.

My guess is maybe. Since all the dSLR cameras are auto-focus, if that bunch of lenses are all manual focus lenses, you will have to learn how to manually focus using them. Most (not all) Chinon cameras use the standard Pentax K-mount to attach lenses to the camera, so if that is the case with yours, Pentax dSLR’s may be what you will be buying when you do move toward buying a dSLR camera system

There are other issues that need to be addressed, but in the end, if you didn’t pay too much for a nice 35 mm SLR and a bunch of lenses, you will if nothing else be able to take some classes in photography and learn to develop your own film and make prints form the resulting negatives

Here is a link to most of the user manuals for Chinon SLR cameras. See if you camera is listed there and if it is, download a copy and start learning how to use your new camera

Question by Toad’s Mom: What should I look for when buying an external flash for a Pentax K-x?
I’m just starting out and need some advice on what type I should get.

Best answer:

Answer by fhotoace
If you want the most features, buying a Pentax external flash is the best.

http://www.pentaximaging.com/accessories/

There are features in an OEM accessory that generic companies cannot include without copyright or patent infringement.

If you really need an electronic flash, take as long as necessary to save the pennies necessary to buy a Pentax

Question by Prrrril!: Can I use a colorsplash flash on a 450D? and what is the best external flash for a 450D?
External flash that’s not so expensive

Best answer:

Answer by Nathan G™
Color splash? Even if it did, you should not use an off-brand flash.

Here is a good, cheap Canon brand Flash, it’s the 430EX:

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-430EX-Speedlite-Flash-Cameras/dp/B000AO3L84/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1230392080&sr=8-1

It’s around two hundred dollars, but for a flash, that’s cheap.
